As some of you know, last night Matt and I had our first date night in a very long time. Needless to say we had a great time. We went to the Pacific Cafe in the city and the food was sooo yummy! The restaurant is a popular seafood joint that we passed by so many times, and finally Matt decided it was time we checked it out.
For starters, we enjoyed a complimentary glass of white wine and of course some bread and butter. Matt was starving, and the wine went straight to his head.
You could tell, because he got so chatty. It was cute. We ordered the calamari vinaigrette as our appetizer, which was really tasty. For dinner I decided on the Ahi Tuna w/ Wasabi Butter and a Crab Bisque(hello, this was the bomb!). And of all things in a SEAFOOD restaurant, Matt ordered….a Steak. I thought it was funny considering that he always used to say, ” You can’t go to a steak restaurant and not order a steak”. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The plate lacked presentation, but heck, who cared, the food was great! Sorry, I went off on a tangent and turned into a food critic from Iron Chef America.
Anyways, the night was filled with laughter, reminiscing, and just enjoying each other’s company. We needed that. Even the happiest of couples need that. Its a great reminder of how much we unknowingly take our loved ones for granted, and just a great refresher for the routine we get so caught up in. After the dinner, Matt suggested to try and do date night at least once a month. I agreed. I love that man.
P.S. This is a special shout out to Matt’s parents for keeping Nikka a little longer so that we could enjoy this time together. Thank you!
